Many women in Ethiopia irregularly migrate to Somaliland in search of employment opportunities but often find themselves vulnerable to exploitation and human trafficking.
To raise awareness about the rights of migrant workers, we've created an animation that tells the story of Selame, a 25-year-old woman who leaves her hometown due to a severe drought that devastated her family's farm.
We've also designed informational flyers for distribution among Ethiopian people, providing them with essential contact information for the Human Rights Commission, and a QR code directing them to a landing page where they can watch Selame's story.
The animation portrays the challenges Selame faces as a migrant worker in Hargeisa and how she discovers her rights and receives assistance from the Somaliland Human Rights Commission to improve her situation.
